| 1As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. | 1Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; |
| 2And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. | 2and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. |

| 11We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. | 11For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. |
| 12Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. | 12Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. |

| 14Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter.
