New International Version | NET Bible |
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship. | 1Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice--alive, holy, and pleasing to God--which is your reasonable service. |
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. | 2Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God--what is good and well-pleasing and perfect. |
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. | 3For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith. |
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, | 4For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, |
so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. | 5so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another. |
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; | 6And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith. |
