New King James VersionBerean Study Bible
A Psalm of David. LORD, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.1A Psalm of David. I call upon You, O LORD; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to You.
Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.2May my prayer be set before You like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering.
Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.3Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.4Do not let my heart be drawn to any evil thing or take part in works of wickedness with men who do iniquity; let me not feast on their delicacies.
Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.5Let the righteous man strike me; let his rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my prayer is ever against the deeds of the wicked.
Their judges are overthrown by the sides of the cliff, And they hear my words, for they are sweet.6When their rulers are thrown down from the cliffs, the people will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.
Our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave, As when one plows and breaks up the earth.7As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
But my eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord; In You I take refuge; Do not leave my soul destitute.8But my eyes are fixed on You, O GOD the Lord. In You I seek refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless.
Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, And from the traps of the workers of iniquity.9Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the lures of evildoers.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, While I escape safely.10Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
