New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,1God, having spoken in former times in fragmentary and varied fashion to our forefathers by the prophets,
has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;2has in these last days spoken to us by a Son whom he appointed to be the heir of everything and through whom he also made the universe.
who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,3He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact likeness of his being, and he holds everything together by his powerful word. After he had provided a cleansing from sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Highest Majesty
having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.4and became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is better than theirs.
For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”?5For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?
But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”6And again, when he brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."
And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.”7Now about the angels he says, "He makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire."
But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.8But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. That is why God, your God, anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness."
And: “You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.10And, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment;11They will come to an end, but you will remain forever. They will all wear out like clothes.
Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.”12You will roll them up like a robe, and they will be changed like clothes. But you remain the same, and your life will never end."
But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?13But to which of the angels did he ever say, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"?
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?14All of them are spirits on a divine mission, sent to serve those who are about to inherit salvation, aren't they?
