1Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.1Now these are the records of the generations of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah; and sons were born to them after the flood.
2The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.2The sons of Japheth were Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras.
3The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.3The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz and Riphath and Togarmah.
4The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.4The sons of Javan were Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Dodanim.

6The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.6The sons of Ham were Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.

8Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.8Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth.
9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.”9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD."
10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.10The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,11From that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh and Rehoboth-Ir and Calah,

13Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,13Mizraim became the father of Ludim and Anamim and Lehabim and Naphtuhim
14Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and Caphtorim).14and Pathrusim and Casluhim (from which came the Philistines) and Caphtorim.
15Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth;15Canaan became the father of Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth
16the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite;16and the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite
17the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite;17and the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite
18the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were dispersed.18and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite; and afterward the families of the Canaanite were spread abroad.
19And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.19The territory of the Canaanite extended from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; as you go toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.
20These were the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.20These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, by their nations.
21And children were born also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder.21Also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, and the older brother of Japheth, children were born.
22The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.22The sons of Shem were Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram.

24Arphaxad begot Salah, and Salah begot Eber.24Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber.
25To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.25Two sons were born to Eber; the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
26Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,26Joktan became the father of Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah
27Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,27and Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah
28Obal, Abimael, Sheba,28and Obal and Abimael and Sheba
29Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.29and Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.
30And their dwelling place was from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.30Now their settlement extended from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the hill country of the east.
31These were the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.31These are the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, according to their nations.
32These were the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood.32These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations; and out of these the nations were separated on the earth after the flood.
