Psalm 71
NKJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame.1In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.
Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me.2In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me.
Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.3Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.
Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.4Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,
For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.5For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.
By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You.6By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; My praise is continually of You.
I have become as a wonder to many, But You are my strong refuge.7I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.
Let my mouth be filled with Your praise And with Your glory all the day.8My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.9Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
For my enemies speak against me; And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together,10For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,
Saying, “God has forsaken him; Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.11Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."
O God, do not be far from me; O my God, make haste to help me!12O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help!
Let them be confounded and consumed Who are adversaries of my life; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor Who seek my hurt.13Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.
But I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.14But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And Your salvation all the day, For I do not know their limits.15My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.16I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.
O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.17O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.
Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.18And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.
Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?19For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?
You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, Shall revive me again, And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.20You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
You shall increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side.21May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.
Also with the lute I will praise You— And Your faithfulness, O my God! To You I will sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel.22I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, And my soul, which You have redeemed.23My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.
My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long; For they are confounded, For they are brought to shame Who seek my hurt.24My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.
