Psalm 142
NKJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew International Version
1A Contemplation of David. A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cry out to the LORD with my voice; With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication.1A maskil of David. When he was in the cave. A prayer. I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy.
2I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble.2I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble.
3When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Then You knew my path. In the way in which I walk They have secretly set a snare for me.3When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way. In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me.
4Look on my right hand and see, For there is no one who acknowledges me; Refuge has failed me; No one cares for my soul.4Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.
5I cried out to You, O LORD: I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.5I cry to you, LORD; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living."
6Attend to my cry, For I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are stronger than I.6Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.
7Bring my soul out of prison, That I may praise Your name; The righteous shall surround me, For You shall deal bountifully with me.”7Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.
