New Living TranslationHolman Christian Standard Bible
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.1A Davidic psalm. The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.2He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.3He renews my life; He leads me along the right paths for His name's sake.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.4Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff--they comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.6Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD as long as I live.
