Psalm 34
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.1A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
I will boast only in the LORD; let all who are helpless take heart.2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles.6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!8O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear the LORD.11Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous?12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.16The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!20He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.21Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
But the LORD will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
