Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. | 1A Prayer of David. Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me; For I am afflicted and needy. |
Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. | 2Preserve my soul, for I am a godly man; O You my God, save Your servant who trusts in You. |
Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. | 3Be gracious to me, O Lord, For to You I cry all day long. |
Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. | 4Make glad the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. |
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. | 5For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You. |
Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry. | 6Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And give heed to the voice of my supplications! |
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me. | 7In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You, For You will answer me. |
No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do! | 8There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. |
All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your holy name. | 9All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify Your name. |
For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. | 10For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God. |
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. | 11Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. |
With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, | 12I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify Your name forever. |
for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death. | 13For Your lovingkindness toward me is great, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. |
O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them. | 14O God, arrogant men have risen up against me, And a band of violent men have sought my life, And they have not set You before them. |
But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. | 15But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth. |
Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant. | 16Turn to me, and be gracious to me; Oh grant Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your handmaid. |
Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me. | 17Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. |
