Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. | 1A prayer of David. Listen O LORD! Answer me! For I am oppressed and needy. |
Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. | 2Protect me, for I am loyal! O my God, deliver your servant, who trusts in you! |
Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. | 3Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I cry out to you all day long! |
Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. | 4Make your servant glad, for to you, O Lord, I pray! |
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. | 5Certainly O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, and show great faithfulness to all who cry out to you. |
Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry. | 6O LORD, hear my prayer! Pay attention to my plea for mercy! |

No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do! | 8None can compare to you among the gods, O Lord! Your exploits are incomparable! |
All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your holy name. | 9All the nations, whom you created, will come and worship you, O Lord. They will honor your name. |
For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. | 10For you are great and do amazing things. You alone are God. |
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. | 11O LORD, teach me how you want me to live! Then I will obey your commands. Make me wholeheartedly committed to you! |
With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, | 12O Lord, my God, I will give you thanks with my whole heart! I will honor your name continually! |
for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death. | 13For you will extend your great loyal love to me, and will deliver my life from the depths of Sheol. |
O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them. | 14O God, arrogant men attack me; a gang of ruthless men, who do not respect you, seek my life. |
But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. | 15But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient and demonstrate great loyal love and faithfulness. |
Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant. | 16Turn toward me and have mercy on me! Give your servant your strength! Deliver your slave! |
Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me. | 17Show me evidence of your favor! Then those who hate me will see it and be ashamed, for you, O LORD, will help me and comfort me. |
