Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!1For the music director; a song, a psalm. Shout out praise to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is.2Sing praises about the majesty of his reputation! Give him the honor he deserves!
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power.3Say to God: "How awesome are your deeds! Because of your great power your enemies cower in fear before you.
Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Interlude4All the earth worships you and sings praises to you! They sing praises to your name!" (Selah)
Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people!5Come and witness God's exploits! His acts on behalf of people are awesome!
He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him.6He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. Let us rejoice in him there!
For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude7He rules by his power forever; he watches the nations. Stubborn rebels should not exalt themselves. (Selah)
Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises.8Praise our God, you nations! Loudly proclaim his praise!
Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling.9He preserves our lives and does not allow our feet to slip.
You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver.10For you, O God, tested us; you purified us like refined silver.
You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs.11You led us into a trap; you caused us to suffer.
Then you put a leader over us. We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance.12You allowed men to ride over our heads; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us out into a wide open place.
Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you—13I will enter your temple with burnt sacrifices; I will fulfill the vows I made to you,
yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble.14which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.
That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude15I will offer up to you fattened animals as burnt sacrifices, along with the smell of sacrificial rams. I will offer cattle and goats. (Selah)
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.16Come! Listen, all you who are loyal to God! I will declare what he has done for me.
For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke.17I cried out to him for help and praised him with my tongue.
If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.18If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.19However, God heard; he listened to my prayer.
Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.20God deserves praise, for he did not reject my prayer or abandon his love for me!
