How can you support truth at work?
How can you personally contribute to being a "fellow worker for the truth"?

The Heart of 3 John 1:8

“Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”

Why Truth Deserves Your Whole Life

• God’s Word is truth itself (John 17:17); siding with it means siding with Him.

• Truth is what sets people free (John 8:32); any help you give to truth-bearers is help you give to the enslaved.

• We cannot do anything against the truth, but only for it (2 Corinthians 13:8).

Everyday Ways to Live the Truth

• Speak it: refuse half-truths and exaggerations (Ephesians 4:25).

• Practice it: obey instantly even in small matters (James 1:22).

• Defend it: give reasons for your hope with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).

• Model it: let sincerity mark your relationships so people see the gospel in action (Philippians 2:15).

Standing Behind Those Who Carry the Truth

• Hospitality: open your home to missionaries, itinerant teachers, or displaced believers (Hebrews 13:2).

• Encouragement: write, text, or call workers on the field; sent words strengthen weary hearts (Acts 18:27).

• Advocacy: recommend trustworthy servants to others, just as Gaius did (3 John 1:6).

Stewarding Your Resources

• Finances: share “in all good things” with those who teach (Galatians 6:6).

• Skills: lend professional abilities—accounting, tech, carpentry—to ministries that need them (Exodus 35:10).

• Time: volunteer for translation, children’s work, logistics, or local outreach (Colossians 4:17).

Guarding the Truth from Error

• Know doctrine well enough to spot counterfeits (Titus 1:9).

• Refuse to platform or fund those who distort the gospel (2 John 1:10-11).

• Gently correct brothers and sisters who drift (2 Timothy 2:24-25).

Cultivating a Truth-Loving Community

• Start or join a small group focused on verse-by-verse study.

• Sing biblically rich songs that teach and admonish (Colossians 3:16).

• Celebrate testimonies of truth changing lives; stories reinforce conviction.

Partnering Through Prayer

• Pray regularly for open doors for the message (Colossians 4:3).

• Intercede for courage and clarity for preachers (Ephesians 6:19-20).

• Ask the Lord of the harvest to send more workers (Matthew 9:38).

Finishing Well

• Stay steadfast: “be immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

• Keep watch over your doctrine and life (1 Timothy 4:16).

• Look forward to hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).

By aligning words, actions, resources, and relationships with God’s revealed truth, you step into the joyful role John describes—an active, personal “fellow worker for the truth.”
