How do we reach His home daily?
How can we "go to His dwelling place" in our daily lives today?

Opening the Text

“Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool.” (Psalm 132:7)

From David’s day until now, God Himself invites His people to approach Him. In Christ, that invitation becomes our daily privilege, not merely a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

Where Is His Dwelling Place Today?

• In the believer: “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

• In gathered worship: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

• In heaven, yet accessible now: “We have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.” (Hebrews 10:19)

Daily Pathways to Enter His Presence

• Scripture Saturation

– Plan unhurried reading; listen for His voice (Psalm 1:2; John 15:7).

– Memorize and meditate; let the Word “richly dwell” (Colossians 3:16).

• Whole-hearted Worship

– Sing psalms, hymns, spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19).

– Praise aloud in the car, the kitchen, the commute—His throne room is not location-bound (Psalm 34:1).

• Prayerful Communion

– Begin the day with surrender (Psalm 5:3).

– Pray “without ceasing,” turning every task into conversation (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

• Obedient Living

– Jesus says, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23)

– Quick confession keeps fellowship unhindered (1 John 1:9).

• Corporate Fellowship

– Devote yourself to a local church; His dwelling is expressed in His body (Acts 2:42).

– Encourage and be encouraged; “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).

• Quiet Reflection

– “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

– Silence phones, screens, and schedules; give Him undivided attention.

Guarding the Door of Our Hearts

• Reject unconfessed sin—nothing blocks access faster (Psalm 24:3-4).

• Refuse idols of comfort, success, or entertainment (1 John 5:21).

• Resist anxiety through thankful prayer; His peace “guards your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Fruit of Dwelling with Him

• Renewed strength (Isaiah 40:31).

• Overflowing joy (Psalm 16:11).

• Steady guidance (Proverbs 3:5-6).

• Visible witness—others “take note that you have been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).

Let Psalm 132:7 become a daily resolve: step toward Him through His Word, His Spirit, and His people, and live every moment at His footstool.
