How to invite God's presence daily?
In what ways can we invite God's presence into our daily lives?

Understanding the Promise

Leviticus 26:11: “And I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not despise you.”

• God Himself initiates relationship—He chooses to “make My dwelling.”

• The verse shows His desire for ongoing, tangible nearness, not an occasional visit.

Preparing Our Hearts

• Confession and cleansing (1 John 1:9; Psalm 139:23-24) — sin disrupts fellowship; honest repentance restores it.

• Whole-hearted devotion (Deuteronomy 6:5) — God dwells where He is loved above all else.

• Humility (Isaiah 57:15) — the high and exalted One “dwells with him who is contrite and lowly of spirit.”

Daily Practices That Welcome His Presence

• Time in the Word

Joshua 1:8: meditate “day and night.”

John 14:23: keeping Christ’s words invites Father and Son to “make Our home” with us.

• Consistent prayer

1 Thessalonians 5:17: “pray without ceasing.”

Philippians 4:6-7: prayer ushers in God’s peace—a sign of His nearness.

• Praise and worship

Psalm 22:3: He is “enthroned on the praises of Israel.”

– Singing, thankfulness, and spoken adoration create a throne room atmosphere wherever we are.

• Obedience in the ordinary

John 15:10: abiding love is expressed by keeping His commands.

Colossians 3:23: working “as for the Lord” turns daily tasks into fellowship.

• Fellowship with believers

Matthew 18:20: “where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there among them.”

– Sharing testimonies and burdens multiplies awareness of His activity.

Guarding Against What Drives Him Away

• Cherished sin (Psalm 66:18) — treasured iniquity closes Heaven’s door.

• Idolatry of any kind (Exodus 20:3-4) — when substitute gods enter, the true God’s manifest presence withdraws.

• Spiritual complacency (Revelation 3:15-17) — lukewarm hearts miss His knock at the door.

• Unforgiveness (Matthew 6:14-15) — withholding mercy blocks fellowship.

Living in the Reality of His Nearness

• Remember covenant identity — 1 Corinthians 6:19: “your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.”

• Expect guidance — Psalm 32:8: He instructs and watches over us.

• Walk in bold assurance — Hebrews 13:5-6: “I will never leave you nor forsake you…The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.”
