The same error confronted Paul when some twisted the promise of grace into permission to continue in sin (Romans 6:1–2). By treating forgiveness as a covering for immoral living, these teachers separated salvation from holiness and led others toward the practices from which Christ delivers His people. Their denial was displayed not only in false teaching but also in lives that rejected Christ’s authority. Jesus is the sovereign Master of those He has redeemed, and every believer is called to submit to Him in faith and obedience. To claim His grace while refusing His lordship is to oppose the One before whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:9–11).
