4. Contrast with Wickedness:
The Bible often contrasts those who fear God with the wicked, who do not. In Romans 3:18 , Paul describes the unrighteous by stating, "There is no fear of God before their eyes." In the New Testament, the fear of the Lord continues to be an important theme. Acts 9:31 notes the early church's growth, stating, "Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers." Here, the fear of the Lord is seen as integral to the spiritual health and expansion of the church.
