The term "fractured" is not directly found in the Bible; however, the concept of brokenness, both physical and spiritual, is prevalent throughout the Scriptures. The Bible often uses imagery of brokenness to describe the human condition, the consequences of sin, and the need for divine restoration.

Physical Fractures:

While the Bible does not explicitly mention fractures in the modern medical sense, it does refer to broken bones and physical injuries. In Psalm 34:20, it is written, "He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken." This verse prophetically points to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, whose bones were not broken during His crucifixion, fulfilling the prophecy and demonstrating God's sovereign protection.

Spiritual and Emotional Fractures:

The Bible frequently addresses the concept of spiritual and emotional brokenness. In Psalm 51:17, David writes, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise." Here, brokenness is associated with repentance and humility before God. It is a state that God values, as it reflects a heart willing to turn away from sin and seek His forgiveness.

Isaiah 61:1 speaks of the Messiah's mission to heal the brokenhearted: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." This passage, later quoted by Jesus in Luke 4:18, highlights the restorative work of Christ in healing those who are spiritually and emotionally fractured.

Fractured Relationships:

The Bible also addresses fractured relationships, often resulting from sin and disobedience. The account of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis illustrates how envy and betrayal can fracture familial bonds. However, it also shows the power of forgiveness and reconciliation, as Joseph ultimately forgives his brothers and restores their relationship (Genesis 45:4-15).

In the New Testament, the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) further exemplifies the theme of fractured relationships and the joy of reconciliation. The father's willingness to forgive and restore his wayward son serves as a powerful illustration of God's grace and mercy toward repentant sinners.

Healing and Restoration:

The Bible consistently points to God as the ultimate healer of all forms of brokenness. In Jeremiah 30:17, God promises, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, declares the LORD." This assurance of healing is not limited to physical ailments but extends to spiritual and relational fractures as well.

Jesus Christ, as the Great Physician, offers healing and restoration to all who come to Him in faith. Matthew 11:28-30 invites the weary and burdened to find rest in Him: "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

In summary, while the Bible does not use the term "fractured," it addresses the concept through various forms of brokenness and emphasizes God's power to heal and restore. Whether physical, spiritual, or relational, the fractures of life find their ultimate remedy in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
