The Day of Trouble

לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ (For the one directing). מִזְמ֥וֹר (A Psalm) לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David).

יַֽעַנְךָ֣ (May answer you) 1יְ֭הוָה (YHWH) בְּי֣וֹם (in the day) צָרָ֑ה (of distress);

יְ֝שַׂגֶּבְךָ֗ (may set you on high) שֵׁ֤ם׀ (the name) אֱלֹהֵ֬י (of the God) יַעֲקֹֽב׃ (of Jacob).

2  יִשְׁלַֽח־ (May He send) עֶזְרְךָ֥ (help for you) מִקֹּ֑דֶשׁ (from the Holy Place),

וּ֝מִצִּיּ֗וֹן (and from Zion) יִסְעָדֶֽךָּ׃ (may He support you).

3  יִזְכֹּ֥ר (May He remember) כָּל־ (all) מִנְחֹתֶ֑ךָ (your gifts),

וְעוֹלָתְךָ֖ (and your burnt offering) יְדַשְּׁנֶ֣ה (anoint).

סֶֽלָה׃ (Selah)

4  יִֽתֶּן־ (may He give) לְךָ֥ (to you) כִלְבָבֶ֑ךָ (according to your heart),

וְֽכָל־ (and all) עֲצָתְךָ֥ (your counsel) יְמַלֵּֽא׃ (fulfill).

5  נְרַנְּנָ֤ה׀ (We will rejoice) בִּ֘ישׁ֤וּעָתֶ֗ךָ (in your salvation),

וּבְשֵֽׁם־ (and in the name) אֱלֹהֵ֥ינוּ (of our God) נִדְגֹּ֑ל (we will raise a banner);

יְמַלֵּ֥א (may fulfill) יְ֝הוָ֗ה (YHWH) כָּל־ (all) מִשְׁאֲלוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ (your petitions).

6  עַתָּ֤ה (Now) יָדַ֗עְתִּי (I know) כִּ֤י (that) הוֹשִׁ֥יעַ׀ (brought salvation) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH) מְשִׁ֫יח֥וֹ (for His anointed);

יַ֭עֲנֵהוּ (He will answer him) מִשְּׁמֵ֣י (from the heavens) קָדְשׁ֑וֹ (of His holiness)

בִּ֝גְבֻר֗וֹת (might) יֵ֣שַׁע (with the saving) יְמִינֽוֹ׃ (of His right hand).

7  אֵ֣לֶּה (These) בָ֭רֶכֶב (in the chariots), וְאֵ֣לֶּה (and these) בַסּוּסִ֑ים (in the horses),

וַאֲנַ֓חְנוּ׀ (and we) בְּשֵׁם־ (in the name) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) אֱלֹהֵ֣ינוּ (our God) נַזְכִּֽיר׃ (will remember).

8  הֵ֭מָּה (They) כָּרְע֣וּ (have bowed down) וְנָפָ֑לוּ (and fallen),

וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ (and we) קַּ֝֗מְנוּ (have risen) וַנִּתְעוֹדָֽד׃ (and stand upright).

9  יְהוָ֥ה (O YHWH), הוֹשִׁ֑יעָה (save) הַ֝מֶּ֗לֶךְ (the King);

יַעֲנֵ֥נוּ (Answer us) בְיוֹם־ (on the day) קָרְאֵֽנוּ׃ (we call).
