Psalm 98

Sing to Yahweh a New Song
(Psalm 149:1–9; Isaiah 42:10–17)

מִזְמ֡וֹר (A Psalm).

1שִׁ֤ירוּ (Sing) לַֽיהוָ֨ה׀ (to YHWH) שִׁ֣יר (a song) חָ֭דָשׁ (new),

כִּֽי־ (for) נִפְלָא֣וֹת (wonders) עָשָׂ֑ה (He has done);

הוֹשִֽׁיעָה־ (has gained victory) לּ֥וֹ (for Him) יְ֝מִינ֗וֹ (His right hand)

וּזְר֥וֹעַ (and the arm) קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ (of His holiness).

2  הוֹדִ֣יעַ (Has made known) יְ֭הוָה (YHWH) יְשׁוּעָת֑וֹ (His victory);

לְעֵינֵ֥י (before the eyes) הַ֝גּוֹיִ֗ם (of the nations) גִּלָּ֥ה (He has revealed) צִדְקָתֽוֹ׃ (His righteousness).

3  זָ֘כַ֤ר (He has remembered) חַסְדּ֨וֹ׀ (His kindness) וֶֽאֱֽמוּנָתוֹ֮ (and His faithfulness)

לְבֵ֪ית (to the house) יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל (of Israel);

רָא֥וּ (have seen) כָל־ (all) אַפְסֵי־ (the ends) אָ֑רֶץ (of the earth) אֵ֝֗ת (-)

יְשׁוּעַ֥ת (the victory) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ (of our God).

4  הָרִ֣יעוּ (Shout joyfully) לַֽ֭יהוָה (to YHWH) כָּל־ (all) הָאָ֑רֶץ (the earth);

פִּצְח֖וּ (break forth) וְרַנְּנ֣וּ (and cry aloud) וְזַמֵּֽרוּ׃ (and sing praises).

5  זַמְּר֣וּ (Sing praises) לַיהוָ֣ה (to YHWH) בְּכִנּ֑וֹר (with the harp),

בְּ֝כִנּ֗וֹר (with the harp) וְק֣וֹל (and the voice) זִמְרָֽה׃ (of melody).

6  בַּ֭חֲצֹ֣צְרוֹת (With the trumpets) וְק֣וֹל (and the voice) שׁוֹפָ֑ר (of the shofar)

הָ֝רִ֗יעוּ (shout joyfully) לִפְנֵ֤י׀ (before the face) הַמֶּ֬לֶךְ (of the King), יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

7  יִרְעַ֣ם (Let roar) הַ֭יָּם (the sea) וּמְלֹא֑וֹ (and its fullness),

תֵּ֝בֵ֗ל (the world) וְיֹ֣שְׁבֵי (and those dwelling) בָֽהּ׃ (in it).

8  נְהָר֥וֹת (The rivers) יִמְחֲאוּ־ (let clap) כָ֑ף (the hands);

יַ֝֗חַד (together) הָרִ֥ים (the hills) יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃ (let them cry aloud)

9  לִֽפְֽנֵי־ (before the face) יְהוָ֗ה (of YHWH),

כִּ֥י (for) בָא֮ (He is coming) לִשְׁפֹּ֪ט (to judge) הָ֫אָ֥רֶץ (the earth).

יִשְׁפֹּֽט־ (He will judge) תֵּבֵ֥ל (the world) בְּצֶ֑דֶק (with righteousness)

וְ֝עַמִּ֗ים (and the peoples) בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ (with uprightness).
