Aaron’s First Offerings

And it came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called for Aaron and for his sons and for the elders of Israel, 2and he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a calf, a son of the herd, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, unblemished, and bring them near before the face of YHWH. 3And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘Take a kid of the goats for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb—sons of a year, unblemished—for a burnt offering, 4and a bull and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the face of YHWH, and a grain offering mixed with the oil. For today YHWH will appear to you⁺.’”

And they brought what Moses had commanded to the face of the Tent of Meeting, and all the congregation drew near and stood before the face of YHWH. 6And Moses said, “This is the thing that YHWH has commanded you⁺ to do, and the glory of YHWH will appear to you⁺.”

And Moses said to Aaron, “Draw near to the altar and do your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement on your behalf and on behalf of the people. And do the offering of the people and make atonement on their behalf, as YHWH commanded.”

And Aaron drew near to the altar, and he slaughtered the calf of the sin offering that was for himself. 9And the sons of Aaron brought near the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and he put it on the horns of the altar, and he poured out the blood at the base of the altar. 10And the fat and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering he burned on the altar, as YHWH had commanded Moses. 11And the flesh and the skin he burned with the fire outside of the camp.

And he slaughtered the burnt offering. And the sons of Aaron presented to him the blood, and he sprinkled it on the altar all around. 13And they presented the burnt offering to him by its pieces and the head, and he burned them on the altar. 14And he washed the entrails and the legs, and he burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.

And he brought near the offering of the people, and he took the goat of the sin offering that was for the people, and he slaughtered it, and he cleansed from sin, like the first one.

And he brought near the burnt offering, and he did it according to the ordinance.

And he brought near the grain offering, and he filled his palm from it, and he burned it on the altar in addition to the burnt offering of the morning.

And he slaughtered the bull and the ram as the sacrifice of the peace offerings that were for the people, and the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him, and he sprinkled it on the altar all around.

And the fat from the bull and the ram, the fat tail, and the covering, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver, 20and they put the fat on the breasts, and he burned the fat on the altar. 21And the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved as a wave offering before the face of YHWH, as Moses had commanded.

And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and he blessed them, and he came down from doing the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.

And Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and they came out, and they blessed the people, and the glory of YHWH appeared to all the people. 24And fire came out from before the face of YHWH, and it consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar, and all the people saw, and they shouted, and they fell on their faces.
