Aaron’s First Offerings 1And it came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called for Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel, 2and he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a bull, a son of the herd, as a sin offering, and a ram as a burnt offering, unblemished, and offer them before the face of YHWH. 3And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘Take a kid of the goats as a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb—sons of a year, unblemished—as a burnt offering, 4and an ox† and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the face of YHWH, and a grain offering mixed with the oil. For today YHWH will appear to you⁺.’” 5And they brought what Moses had commanded to the front of the Tent of Meeting, and all the congregation drew near and stood before the face of YHWH. 6And Moses said, “This is the thing that YHWH has commanded you⁺ to do, and the glory of YHWH will appear to you⁺.” 7And Moses said to Aaron, “Go to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. And offer the offering of the people and make atonement for them, as YHWH commanded.” 8And Aaron went to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering that was for himself. 9And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar, and he poured out the blood at the base of the altar. 10And the fat and the kidneys and the lobe of the liver of the sin offering he burned on the altar, as YHWH had commanded Moses. 11And the flesh and the hide he burned with the fire outside the camp. 12And he killed the burnt offering. And the sons of Aaron presented to him the blood, and he sprinkled it on the altar all around. 13And they presented the burnt offering to him with its pieces and the head, and he burned them on the altar. 14And he washed the entrails and the legs and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar. 15And he brought the offering of the people and took the goat of the sin offering that was for the people, and he killed it and offered it for sin, like the first one. 16And he brought the burnt offering and offered it according to the ordinance. 17And he brought the grain offering and took a handful of it and burned it on the altar apart from the burnt offering of the morning. 18And He killed the bull and the ram as a sacrifice of the peace offerings that were for the people, and the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him, and he sprinkled it on the altar all around. 19And the fat from the bull and the ram, the fat tail, and the covering, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver, 20they put the fat on the breasts, and he burned the fat on the altar. 21And the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved as a wave offering before the face of YHWH, as Moses had commanded. 22And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people and blessed them, and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings. 23And Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and they came out and blessed the people, and the glory of YHWH appeared to all the people. 24And fire came out from before YHWH and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar, and all the people saw it, and they shouted and fell on their faces.
