1And after six days, Jesus takes Peter and James and John his brother with Him and led them up onto a high mountain by themselves privately. 2And He was transfigured (transformed, metamorphized, latin-transfiguratus) before them and His face shone like as the sun and His clothes became white like as the light. 3And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with Him. 4And answering, Peter said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, we will make three tabernacles here: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. 5While he was yet speaking, behold a brightly luminous (brilliant, luminous, full of light) cloud overshadowed (to cast shade upon) them; and behold, a voice from out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased; Listen to Him! 6And having heard it, the disciples fell upon their face and were extremely (very much, exceedingly, done to the max) terrified. 7And Jesus having come to them and having touched them, said, Rise up, and do not be fearful. 8And having lifted up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.

9And as they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Do not tell anyone the vision until the Son of Man is risen from out of the dead. 10And the disciples inquired of Him, Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must first come? 11And answering, He said, Elijah indeed comes and will restore all things. 12However I say to you, that Elijah already is come and they do not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. Thus also the Son of Man is about to suffer by (under) them. 13Then the disciples comprehended that He spoke to them concerning John the Baptist.

14And when they came to the crowd, a man came near to Him, falling on his knees before Him, 15And saying, Lord, Have mercy on my son because he is epileptic (moon-struck, moonized, latin-lunaticus-seizures luna means moon) and suffers badly; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16And I brought him to Your disciples and they were not able to heal him. 17And answering, Jesus said, O non-believing and perverted (thoroughly turned, distorted, twisted, opposite from the shape it should be, latin-perversa-perverse) generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I bear (hold up) with you? Bring him here to Me. 18And Jesus censured him and the demon went out from him and the boy was healed from that there hour.

19Then the disciples said to Jesus in private (on their own), Why were we not able to cast it out? 20And He said to them, Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, If you have (hold, possess) faith like as a seed of mustard, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there! And it will move; and nothing will be impossible (unable) for you. 21{however this kind does not go out except in prayer and fasting. – in the Vulgate and most translations, not in ESV}

22And while they were abiding in Galilee, Jesus said to them, the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, 23And they will kill Him; and on the third day He will be raised up. And they were very deeply saddened.

24And when they came into Capernaum, those collecting the didrachmas (tribute money) came and said, Does your Teacher not pay the didrachmas? 25He says, Yes. And he having entered into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What do you suppose, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect duties (tolls, customs, taxes) or tribute (poll tax)? From their sons or from others? 26And he said, From the others. Jesus said to him, Then the sons are free from obligation. 27However so that we might not cause them to stumble (offend them), having gone unto the sea, cast a hook and take the first fish having come up and having opened its mouth, you will find a stater (Jewish shekel, silver coin worth two didrachma); take that and give it to them for Me and you.
