| 3The wicked are estranged from the womb; the liars go astray from birth. | 3The wicked go astray from the womb; liars err from birth. |
| 4Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like a cobra that shuts its ears, | 4They have venom like the venom of a snake, like the deaf cobra that stops up its ears, |
