Psalm 12
BSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleNew Living Translation
1For the choirmaster. According to Sheminith. A Psalm of David. Help, O LORD, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men.1Help, O LORD, for the godly are fast disappearing! The faithful have vanished from the earth!
2They lie to one another; they speak with flattering lips and a double heart.2Neighbors lie to each other, speaking with flattering lips and deceitful hearts.
3May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue.3May the LORD cut off their flattering lips and silence their boastful tongues.
4They say, “With our tongues we will prevail. We own our lips—who can be our master?”4They say, “We will lie to our hearts’ content. Our lips are our own—who can stop us?”
5“For the cause of the oppressed and for the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will bring safety to him who yearns.”5The LORD replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.”
6The words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace, like gold purified sevenfold.6The LORD’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over.
7You, O LORD, will keep us; You will forever guard us from this generation.7Therefore, LORD, we know you will protect the oppressed, preserving them forever from this lying generation,
8The wicked wander freely, and vileness is exalted among men.8even though the wicked strut about, and evil is praised throughout the land.
