The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,1Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil from beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly.2"Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you clear oil from beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.
Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall arrange it from evening to morning before the LORD regularly. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.3"Outside the veil of testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the LORD continually; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations.
He shall arrange the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold before the LORD regularly.4"He shall keep the lamps in order on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD continually.
“You shall take fine flour and bake twelve loaves from it; two tenths of an ephah shall be in each loaf.5"Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake.
And you shall set them in two piles, six in a pile, on the table of pure gold before the LORD.6"You shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table before the LORD.
And you shall put pure frankincense on each pile, that it may go with the bread as a memorial portion as a food offering to the LORD.7"You shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to the LORD.
Every Sabbath day Aaron shall arrange it before the LORD regularly; it is from the people of Israel as a covenant forever.8"Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before the LORD continually; it is an everlasting covenant for the sons of Israel.
And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, since it is for him a most holy portion out of the LORD’s food offerings, a perpetual due.”9"It shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the LORD'S offerings by fire, his portion forever."
Now an Israelite woman’s son, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the people of Israel. And the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel fought in the camp,10Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and the Israelite woman's son and a man of Israel struggled with each other in the camp.
and the Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the Name, and cursed. Then they brought him to Moses. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)
And they put him in custody, till the will of the LORD should be clear to them.12They put him in custody so that the command of the LORD might be made clear to them.
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,13Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
“Bring out of the camp the one who cursed, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.14"Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then let all the congregation stone him.
And speak to the people of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin.15"You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If anyone curses his God, then he will bear his sin.
Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.16'Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.
“Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.17'If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death.
Whoever takes an animal’s life shall make it good, life for life.18'The one who takes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life.
If anyone injures his neighbor, as he has done it shall be done to him,19'If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him:
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever injury he has given a person shall be given to him.20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him.
Whoever kills an animal shall make it good, and whoever kills a person shall be put to death.21'Thus the one who kills an animal shall make it good, but the one who kills a man shall be put to death.
You shall have the same rule for the sojourner and for the native, for I am the LORD your God.”22'There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the LORD your God.'"
So Moses spoke to the people of Israel, and they brought out of the camp the one who had cursed and stoned him with stones. Thus the people of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.23Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
