| 13that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it? | 13that it might seize the corners of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it? |
| 14It is changed like clay under the seal, and its features stand out like a garment. | 14The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features are dyed like a garment. |
| 15From the wicked their light is withheld, and their uplifted arm is broken. | 15Then from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm raised in violence is broken. |

| 27to satisfy the waste and desolate land, and to make the ground sprout with grass? | 27to satisfy a devastated and desolate land, and to cause it to sprout with vegetation? |
| 28“Has the rain a father, or who has begotten the drops of dew? | 28Does the rain have a father, or who has fathered the drops of the dew? |
| 29From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the frost of heaven? | 29From whose womb does the ice emerge, and the frost from the sky, who gives birth to it, |

| 31“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loose the cords of Orion? | 31Can you tie the bands of the Pleiades, or release the cords of Orion? |
| 32Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children? | 32Can you lead out the constellations in their seasons, or guide the Bear with its cubs? |
| 33Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth? | 33Do you know the laws of the heavens, or can you set up their rule over the earth? |
| 34“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that a flood of waters may cover you? | 34Can you raise your voice to the clouds so that a flood of water covers you? |
| 35Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go and say to you, ‘Here we are’? | 35Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go? Will they say to you, 'Here we are'? |
