ISV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
International Standard VersionEnglish Standard Version
Now concerning the collection for the saints, you should follow the directions I gave to the churches in Galatia. 1Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.
After the Sabbath ends, each of you should set aside and save something from your surplus in proportion to what you have, so that no collections will have to be made when I arrive. 2On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.
When I arrive, I will send letters along with the men you approve to take your gift to Jerusalem. 3And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.
If it is worthwhile for me to go, too, they can go with me.4If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
I will visit you when I go through Macedonia—for I intend to go through Macedonia— 5I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia,
and will probably stay with you for a while or even spend the winter with you. Then you can send me on my way, wherever I decide to go. 6and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go.
I do not want to visit with you now just in passing, because I hope to spend a longer time with you if the Lord permits. 7For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.
However, I'll stay on in Ephesus until Pentecost, 8But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,
because a door has opened wide for me to do effective work, although many people are opposing me.9for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
If Timothy comes, see to it that he does not have anything to be afraid of while he is with you, for he is doing the Lord's work as I am. 10When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am.
Therefore, no one should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he may come to me, because I am expecting him along with the brothers.11So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.
Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but he was not inclined to do so just now. However, he will visit you when the time is right.12Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.
Remain alert. Keep standing firm in your faith. Keep on being courageous and strong. 13Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Everything you do should be done lovingly. 14Let all that you do be done in love.
Now I urge you, brothers—for you know that the members of the family of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to serving the saints— 15Now I urge you, brothers—you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints—
to submit yourselves to people like these and to anyone else who shares their labor and hard work. 16be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer.
I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus came here, because what was lacking they have supplied through you. 17I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence,
They refreshed my spirit—and yours, too. Therefore, appreciate men like that.18for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.
The churches in Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca and the church in their house greet you warmly in union with the Lord. 19The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord.
All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.20All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand.21I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand.
If anyone doesn't love the Lord, let him be condemned! May our Lord come! 22If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you!23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
May my love remain with all of you in union with the Messiah Jesus. 24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
