This is the historical record of Adam's generations. When God created mankind, he made them in his own likeness. 1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Creating them male and female, he blessed them and called them humans when he created them.2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
After Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son just like him, that is, according to his own likeness, and named him Seth. 3And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
Adam lived another 800 years, fathering other sons and daughters after he had fathered Seth. 4And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then died.5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
When Seth had lived 105 years, he fathered Enosh. 6And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
After he fathered Enosh, Seth lived 807 years, fathering other sons and daughters. 7And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then died.8And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
When Enosh had lived 90 years, he fathered Kenan. 9And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
After he fathered Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years, fathering other sons and daughters. 10And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then died.11And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
When Kenan had lived 70 years, he fathered Mahalalel. 12And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:
After he fathered Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years, fathering other sons and daughters. 13And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then died.14And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared. 15And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
After he fathered Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years, fathering other sons and daughters. 16And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then died.17And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch. 18And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
After he fathered Enoch, Jared lived 800 years, fathering other sons and daughters. 19And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then died.20And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. 21And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
After he fathered Methuselah, Enoch communed with God for 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters. 22And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
Enoch lived a total of 365 years, 23And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
communing with God—and then he was there no longer, because God had taken him.24And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech. 25And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:

whom he named Noah, because he said, "May this one comfort us from our work, from pain that is caused by our manual labor, and from the ground that the LORD has cursed." 29And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
After he fathered Noah, Lamech lived 595 years, fathering other sons and daughters. 30And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
