| 1Hallelujah! Sing a new song to the LORD, praising him where the godly gather together. | 1Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. |
| 2May Israel rejoice in its Maker, and Zion's descendants in their King! | 2Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. |
| 3May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres. | 3Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. |
| 4For the LORD is pleased with his people; he beautifies the afflicted with salvation. | 4For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. |
| 5May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches. | 5Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. |
| 6Let high praises to God be heard in their throats, while they wield two-edged swords in their hands | 6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; |
| 7as they bring retribution to nations and punishment to peoples, | 7To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; |
| 8binding their kings with chains, their officials with iron bands, | 8To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; |
| 9and executing the judgment written against them. This is honor for all the ones he loves. Hallelujah! | 9To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD. |
