Corinthians 16
King James BibleEnglish Standard Version
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.1Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.
Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.2On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.
And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.3And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.
And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.4If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.5I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia,
And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.6and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go.
For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.7For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.
But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.8But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,
For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.9for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.10When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am.
Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.11So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.
As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.12Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.13Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Let all your things be done with charity.14Let all that you do be done in love.
I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)15Now I urge you, brothers—you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints—
That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.16be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer.
I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.17I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence,
For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.18for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.
The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.19The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord.
All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.20All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand.21I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand.
If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.22If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. 24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
