A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. | 1A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. |
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: | 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; |
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; | 3Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; |
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; | 4Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; |
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. | 5Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. |
The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. | 6The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed. |
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. | 7He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel. |
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. | 8The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. |
He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. | 9He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. |
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. | 10He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. |
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. | 11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. |
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. | 12As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. |
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. | 13Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. |
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. | 14For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. |
As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. | 15As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. |
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. | 16When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer. |
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; | 17But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children, |
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. | 18To those who keep His covenant And remember His precepts to do them. |
The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. | 19The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all. |
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. | 20Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word! |
Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. | 21Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will. |
Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. | 22Bless the LORD, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, O my soul! |
