A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. | 1A song. A Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my being. |
Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! | 2Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. |
I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will praise You, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples. |
For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the skies. | 4For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth. | 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth. |
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer me! | 6Respond and save us with Your right hand, that Your beloved may be delivered. |
God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem And measure out the valley of Succoth. | 7God has spoken from His sanctuary: “I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem and apportion the Valley of Succoth. |
"Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is My helmet, Judah is My scepter. |
"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Over Philistia I will shout aloud." | 9Moab is My washbasin; upon Edom I toss My sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” |
Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? |
Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God? | 11Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies? |
Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. | 12Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. |
Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries. | 13With God we will perform with valor, and He will trample our enemies. |
