A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. | 1A song, a psalm of David. I am determined, O God! I will sing and praise you with my whole heart. |
Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! | 2Awake, O stringed instrument and harp! I will wake up at dawn! |
I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will give you thanks before the nations, O LORD! I will sing praises to you before foreigners! |
For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the skies. | 4For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, and your faithfulness reaches the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth. | 5Rise up above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! |
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer me! | 6Deliver by your power and answer me, so that the ones you love may be safe. |
God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem And measure out the valley of Succoth. | 7God has spoken in his sanctuary: "I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem, the valley of Succoth I will measure off. |
"Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead belongs to me, as does Manasseh! Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my royal scepter. |
"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Over Philistia I will shout aloud." | 9Moab is my wash basin. I will make Edom serve me. I will shout in triumph over Philistia." |
Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will lead me into the fortified city? Who will bring me to Edom? |
Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God? | 11Have you not rejected us, O God? O God, you do not go into battle with our armies. |
Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. | 12Give us help against the enemy, for any help men might offer is futile. |
Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries. | 13By God's power we will conquer; he will trample down our enemies. |
