New American Standard Bible 1995 | English Standard Version |
A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. | 1My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! |
Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! | 2Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! |
I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. |
For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the skies. | 4For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth. | 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! |
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer me! | 6That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer me! |
God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem And measure out the valley of Succoth. | 7God has promised in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth. |
"Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter. |
"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Over Philistia I will shout aloud." | 9Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” |
Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? |
Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God? | 11Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies. |
Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. | 12Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man! |
Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries. | 13With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. |
