NASB Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995Christian Standard Bible
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.1Now concerning spiritual gifts: brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be unaware.
You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.2You know that when you were pagans, you used to be enticed and led astray by mute idols.
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.3Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.4Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.5There are different ministries, but the same Lord.
There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.6And there are different activities, but the same God produces each gift in each person.
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.7A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good:
For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;8to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,
to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,9to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.10to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another, interpretation of tongues.
But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.11One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.12For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body--so also is Christ.
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.13For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
For the body is not one member, but many.14Indeed, the body is not one part but many.
If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.15If the foot should say, "Because I'm not a hand, I don't belong to the body," it is not for that reason any less a part of the body.
And if the ear says, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.16And if the ear should say, "Because I'm not an eye, I don't belong to the body," it is not for that reason any less a part of the body.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?17If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.18But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as he wanted.
If they were all one member, where would the body be?19And if they were all the same part, where would the body be?
But now there are many members, but one body.20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; or again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."21The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" Or again, the head can't say to the feet, "I don't need you!"
On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;22On the contrary, those parts of the body that are weaker are indispensable.
and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable,23And those parts of the body that we consider less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unrespectable parts are treated with greater respect,
whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked,24which our respectable parts do not need. Instead, God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable,
so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.25so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other.
And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.26So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.27Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it.
And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.28And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, various kinds of tongues.
All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles?
All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in other tongues? Do all interpret?
But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.31But desire the greater gifts. And I will show you an even better way.
