Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.1Περὶ δὲ τῶν πνευματικῶν ἀδελφοί οὐ θέλω ὑμᾶς ἀγνοεῖν
You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.2Οἴδατε ὅτι ὅτε ἔθνη ἦτε πρὸς τὰ εἴδωλα τὰ ἄφωνα ὡς ἂν ἤγεσθε ἀπαγόμενοι
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.3διὸ γνωρίζω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδεὶς ἐν Πνεύματι Θεοῦ λαλῶν λέγει Αναθεμα ΙΗΣΟΥΣ καὶ οὐδεὶς δύναται εἰπεῖν Κυριος ΙΗΣΟΥΣ εἰ μὴ ἐν Πνεύματι Ἁγίῳ
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.4Διαιρέσεις δὲ χαρισμάτων εἰσίν τὸ δὲ αὐτὸ Πνεῦμα
And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.5καὶ διαιρέσεις διακονιῶν εἰσιν καὶ αὐτὸς Κύριος
There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.6καὶ διαιρέσεις ἐνεργημάτων εἰσίν (καὶ) δὲ αὐτὸς Θεός ἐνεργῶν τὰ πάντα ἐν πᾶσιν
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.7Ἑκάστῳ δὲ δίδοται φανέρωσις τοῦ Πνεύματος πρὸς τὸ συμφέρον
For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;8 μὲν γὰρ διὰ τοῦ Πνεύματος δίδοται λόγος σοφίας ἄλλῳ δὲ λόγος γνώσεως κατὰ τὸ αὐτὸ Πνεῦμα
to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,9ἑτέρῳ πίστις ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ Πνεύματι ἄλλῳ δὲ χαρίσματα ἰαμάτων ἐν τῷ ἑνὶ Πνεύματι
and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.10ἄλλῳ δὲ ἐνεργήματα δυνάμεων ἄλλῳ δὲ προφητεία ἄλλῳ δὲ διακρίσεις πνευμάτων ἑτέρῳ γένη γλωσσῶν ἄλλῳ δὲ ἑρμηνεία γλωσσῶν
But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.11πάντα δὲ ταῦτα ἐνεργεῖ τὸ ἓν καὶ τὸ αὐτὸ Πνεῦμα διαιροῦν ἰδίᾳ ἑκάστῳ καθὼς βούλεται
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.12Καθάπερ γὰρ τὸ σῶμα ἕν ἐστιν καὶ μέλη πολλὰ ἔχει πάντα δὲ τὰ μέλη τοῦ σώματος πολλὰ ὄντα ἕν ἐστιν σῶμα οὕτως καὶ Χριστός
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.13καὶ γὰρ ἐν ἑνὶ Πνεύματι ἡμεῖς πάντες εἰς ἓν σῶμα ἐβαπτίσθημεν εἴτε Ἰουδαῖοι εἴτε Ἕλληνες εἴτε δοῦλοι εἴτε ἐλεύθεροι καὶ πάντες ἓν Πνεῦμα ἐποτίσθημεν
For the body is not one member, but many.14Καὶ γὰρ τὸ σῶμα οὐκ ἔστιν ἓν μέλος ἀλλὰ πολλά
If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.15ἐὰν εἴπῃ πούς Ὅτι οὐκ εἰμὶ χείρ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ σώματος οὐ παρὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ σώματος
And if the ear says, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.16καὶ ἐὰν εἴπῃ τὸ οὖς Ὅτι οὐκ εἰμὶ ὀφθαλμός οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ σώματος οὐ παρὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ σώματος
If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?17εἰ ὅλον τὸ σῶμα ὀφθαλμός ποῦ ἀκοή εἰ ὅλον ἀκοή ποῦ ὄσφρησις
But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.18Νυνὶ* δὲ Θεὸς ἔθετο τὰ μέλη ἓν ἕκαστον αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ σώματι καθὼς ἠθέλησεν
If they were all one member, where would the body be?19εἰ δὲ ἦν τὰ πάντα ἓν μέλος ποῦ τὸ σῶμα
But now there are many members, but one body.20νῦν δὲ πολλὰ μὲν μέλη ἓν δὲ σῶμα
And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; or again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."21Οὐ δύναται δὲ ὀφθαλμὸς εἰπεῖν τῇ χειρί Χρείαν σου οὐκ ἔχω πάλιν κεφαλὴ τοῖς ποσίν Χρείαν ὑμῶν οὐκ ἔχω
On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;22ἀλλὰ πολλῷ μᾶλλον τὰ δοκοῦντα μέλη τοῦ σώματος ἀσθενέστερα ὑπάρχειν ἀναγκαῖά ἐστιν
and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable,23καὶ δοκοῦμεν ἀτιμότερα εἶναι τοῦ σώματος τούτοις τιμὴν περισσοτέραν περιτίθεμεν καὶ τὰ ἀσχήμονα ἡμῶν εὐσχημοσύνην περισσοτέραν ἔχει
whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked,24τὰ δὲ εὐσχήμονα ἡμῶν οὐ χρείαν ἔχει Ἀλλὰ θεὸς συνεκέρασεν τὸ σῶμα τῷ ὑστερουμένῳ περισσοτέραν δοὺς τιμήν
so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.25ἵνα μὴ σχίσμα ἐν τῷ σώματι ἀλλὰ τὸ αὐτὸ ὑπὲρ ἀλλήλων μεριμνῶσιν τὰ μέλη
And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.26καὶ εἴτε πάσχει ἓν μέλος συμπάσχει πάντα τὰ μέλη εἴτε δοξάζεται [ἓν] μέλος συνχαίρει πάντα τὰ μέλη
Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.27Ὑμεῖς δέ ἐστε σῶμα Χριστοῦ καὶ μέλη ἐκ μέρους
And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.28Καὶ οὓς μὲν ἔθετο Θεὸς ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ πρῶτον ἀποστόλους δεύτερον προφήτας τρίτον διδασκάλους ἔπειτα δυνάμεις ἔπειτα χαρίσματα ἰαμάτων ἀντιλήμψεις κυβερνήσεις γένη γλωσσῶν
All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?29μὴ πάντες ἀπόστολοι μὴ πάντες προφῆται μὴ πάντες διδάσκαλοι μὴ πάντες δυνάμεις
All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?30μὴ πάντες χαρίσματα ἔχουσιν ἰαμάτων μὴ πάντες γλώσσαις λαλοῦσιν μὴ πάντες διερμηνεύουσιν
But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.31ζηλοῦτε δὲ τὰ χαρίσματα τὰ μείζονα Καὶ ἔτι καθ’ ὑπερβολὴν ὁδὸν ὑμῖν δείκνυμι
