Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. | 1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. |
And He said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down." | 2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. |
As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" | 3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? |
And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. | 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. |
"For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. | 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. |
"You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. | 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. |
"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. | 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. |
"But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. | 8All these are the beginning of sorrows. |
"Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. | 9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. |
"At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. | 10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. |
"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. | 11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. |
"Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. | 12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. |
"But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. | 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. |
"This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. | 14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. |
"Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), | 15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) |
then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. | 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: |
"Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. | 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: |
"Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. | 18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. |
"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! | 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! |
"But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. | 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: |
"For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. | 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. |
"Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. | 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. |
"Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him. | 23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. |
"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. | 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. |
"Behold, I have told you in advance. | 25Behold, I have told you before. |
"So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them. | 26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. |
"For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. | 27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
"Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. | 28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. |
"But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. | 29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: |
"And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. | 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. |
"And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. | 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. |
"Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; | 32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: |
so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. | 33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. |
"Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. | 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. |
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. | 35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. |
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. | 36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. |
"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. | 37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
"For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, | 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, |
and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. | 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
"Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. | 40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. |
"Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left. | 41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. |
"Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. | 42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. |
"But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. | 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. |
"For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. | 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. |
"Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? | 45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? |
"Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. | 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. |
"Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. | 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. |
"But if that evil slave says in his heart, 'My master is not coming for a long time,' | 48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; |
and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards; | 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; |
the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, | 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, |
and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. | 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
