Psalm 34
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
Written by David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, causing the king to send him away. I will praise the LORD at all times; my mouth will continually praise him. 1I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
I will boast in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! 2My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.
Magnify the LORD with me! Let's praise his name together! 3Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!
I sought the LORD's help and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 4I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help are happy; their faces are not ashamed. 5Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This oppressed man cried out and the LORD heard; he saved him from all his troubles. 6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
The LORD's angel camps around the LORD's loyal followers and delivers them. 7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him! 8Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Remain loyal to the LORD, you chosen people of his, for his loyal followers lack nothing! 9Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!
Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. 10The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Come children! Listen to me! I will teach you what it means to fear the LORD. 11Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Do you want to really live? Would you love to live a long, happy life? 12What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good?
Then make sure you don't speak evil words or use deceptive speech! 13Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
Turn away from evil and do what is right! Strive for peace and promote it! 14Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The LORD pays attention to the godly and hears their cry for help. 15The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.
But the LORD opposes evildoers and wipes out all memory of them from the earth. 16The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
The godly cry out and the LORD hears; he saves them from all their troubles. 17When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near the brokenhearted; he delivers those who are discouraged. 18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
The godly face many dangers, but the LORD saves them from each one of them. 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken. 20He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.
Evil people self-destruct; those who hate the godly are punished. 21Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
The LORD rescues his servants; all who take shelter in him escape punishment. 22The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.
