Psalm 34
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
Written by David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, causing the king to send him away. I will praise the LORD at all times; my mouth will continually praise him. 1I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise will be in my mouth continuously.
I will boast in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! 2My soul will glorify the LORD; the humble will hear about it and rejoice.
Magnify the LORD with me! Let's praise his name together! 3Magnify the LORD with me! Let us lift up his name together!
I sought the LORD's help and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 4I sought the LORD and he answered me; he delivered me from all of my fears.
Those who look to him for help are happy; their faces are not ashamed. 5Look to him and be radiant; and you will not be ashamed.
This oppressed man cried out and the LORD heard; he saved him from all his troubles. 6This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard and delivered him from all of his distress.
The LORD's angel camps around the LORD's loyal followers and delivers them. 7The angel of the LORD surrounds those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him! 8Taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the person who trusts in him!
Remain loyal to the LORD, you chosen people of his, for his loyal followers lack nothing! 9Fear the LORD, you holy ones of his; for those who fear him lack nothing.
Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. 10Young lions lack and go hungry, but those who seek the LORD will never lack any good thing.
Come children! Listen to me! I will teach you what it means to fear the LORD. 11Come, children, listen to me, and I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Do you want to really live? Would you love to live a long, happy life? 12Who among you desires life, and wants long life in order to see good?
Then make sure you don't speak evil words or use deceptive speech! 13Then keep your tongue from doing evil and your lips from spreading lies.
Turn away from evil and do what is right! Strive for peace and promote it! 14Avoid evil and do good! Seek peace and pursue it!
The LORD pays attention to the godly and hears their cry for help. 15The LORD looks on the righteous, and he listens to their cries.
But the LORD opposes evildoers and wipes out all memory of them from the earth. 16The face of the LORD is set against those who do evil, and he will remove people's recollection of them from the earth.
The godly cry out and the LORD hears; he saves them from all their troubles. 17The LORD hears those who cry out, and he delivers them from all their distress.
The LORD is near the brokenhearted; he delivers those who are discouraged. 18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and he delivers those whose spirit has been crushed.
The godly face many dangers, but the LORD saves them from each one of them. 19A righteous person will have many troubles, but the LORD will deliver him from them all.
He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken. 20God protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
Evil people self-destruct; those who hate the godly are punished. 21Evil will kill the wicked; those who hate the righteous will be held guilty.
The LORD rescues his servants; all who take shelter in him escape punishment. 22The LORD redeems the lives of his servants; and none of those who trust in him will be held guilty.
