| 1On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel, | 1On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel. |
| 2and said to Aaron, "Take for yourself a bull calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both flawless, and present them before the LORD. | 2He said to Aaron, "Take a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present them before the LORD. |
| 3Then tell the Israelites: 'Take a male goat for a sin offering and a calf and lamb, both a year old and flawless, for a burnt offering, | 3And tell the Israelites: Take a male goat for a sin offering; a calf and a lamb, male yearlings without blemish, for a burnt offering; |
| 4and an ox and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the LORD, and a grain offering mixed with olive oil, for today the LORD is going to appear to you.'" | 4an ox and a ram for a fellowship offering to sacrifice before the LORD; and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the LORD is going to appear to you." |
| 5So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the Meeting Tent and the whole congregation presented them and stood before the LORD. | 5They brought what Moses had commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the whole community came forward and stood before the LORD. |

| 7Moses then said to Aaron, "Approach the altar and make your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement on behalf of yourself and on behalf of the people; and also make the people's offering and make atonement on behalf of them just as the LORD has commanded." | 7Then Moses said to Aaron, "Approach the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering; make atonement for yourself and the people. Sacrifice the people's offering and make atonement for them, as the LORD commanded." |
| 8So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the sin offering calf which was for himself. | 8So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself. |

| 10The fat and the kidneys and the protruding lobe of the liver from the sin offering he offered up in smoke on the altar just as the LORD had commanded Moses, | 10He burned the fat, the kidneys, and the fatty lobe of the liver from the sin offering on the altar, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 11but the flesh and the hide he completely burned up outside the camp. | 11He burned up the flesh and the hide outside the camp. |
| 12He then slaughtered the burnt offering, and his sons handed the blood to him and he splashed it against the altar's sides. | 12Then he slaughtered the burnt offering. Aaron's sons brought him the blood, and he sprinkled it on all sides of the altar. |
| 13The burnt offering itself they handed to him by its parts, including the head, and he offered them up in smoke on the altar, | 13They brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, along with the head, and he burned them on the altar. |

| 19As for the fat parts from the ox and from the ram (the fatty tail, the fat covering the entrails, the kidneys, and the protruding lobe of the liver), | 19They also brought the fat portions from the ox and the ram--the fat tail, the fat surrounding the entrails, the kidneys, and the fatty lobe of the liver-- |
| 20they set those on the breasts and he offered the fat parts up in smoke on the altar. | 20and placed these on the breasts. Aaron burned the fat portions on the altar, |
| 21Finally Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the LORD just as Moses had commanded. | 21but he waved the breasts and the right thigh as a presentation offering before the LORD, as Moses had commanded. |
| 22Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them and descended from making the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering. | 22Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. He came down after sacrificing the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the fellowship offering. |
| 23Moses and Aaron then entered into the Meeting Tent. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. | 23Moses and Aaron then entered the tent of meeting. | 24Then fire went out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat parts on the altar, and all the people saw it, so they shouted loudly and fell down with their faces to the ground. | 24Fire came from the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell facedown on the ground. |
