Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God! Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate! 1Hallelujah! How good it is to sing to our God, for praise is pleasant and lovely.
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel. 2The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem; He gathers Israel's exiled people.
He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds. 3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; he names all of them. 4He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.
Our Lord is great and has awesome power; there is no limit to his wisdom. 5Our Lord is great, vast in power; His understanding is infinite.
The LORD lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground. 6The LORD helps the afflicted but brings the wicked to the ground.
Offer to the LORD a song of thanks! Sing praises to our God to the accompaniment of a harp! 7Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; play the lyre to our God,
He covers the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. 8who covers the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, and causes grass to grow on the hills.
He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. 9He provides the animals with their food, and the young ravens, what they cry for.
He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior's strong legs. 10He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; He does not value the power of a man.
The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love. 11The LORD values those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His faithful love.
Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 12Exalt the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion!
For he makes the bars of your gates strong. He blesses your children within you. 13For He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your children within you.
He brings peace to your territory. He abundantly provides for you the best grain. 14He endows your territory with prosperity; He satisfies you with the finest wheat.
He sends his command through the earth; swiftly his order reaches its destination. 15He sends His command throughout the earth; His word runs swiftly.
He sends the snow that is white like wool; he spreads the frost that is white like ashes. 16He spreads snow like wool; He scatters frost like ashes;
He throws his hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? 17He throws His hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand His cold?
He then orders it all to melt; he breathes on it, and the water flows. 18He sends His word and melts them; He unleashes His winds, and the waters flow.
He proclaims his word to Jacob, his statutes and regulations to Israel. 19He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.
He has not done so with any other nation; they are not aware of his regulations. Praise the LORD! 20He has not done this for any nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!
