Psalm 147
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God! Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate! 1Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel. 2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds. 3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; he names all of them. 4He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Our Lord is great and has awesome power; there is no limit to his wisdom. 5Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
The LORD lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground. 6The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
Offer to the LORD a song of thanks! Sing praises to our God to the accompaniment of a harp! 7Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.
He covers the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. 8He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. 9He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior's strong legs. 10His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love. 11the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 12Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.
For he makes the bars of your gates strong. He blesses your children within you. 13He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
He brings peace to your territory. He abundantly provides for you the best grain. 14He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
He sends his command through the earth; swiftly his order reaches its destination. 15He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
He sends the snow that is white like wool; he spreads the frost that is white like ashes. 16He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
He throws his hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? 17He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
He then orders it all to melt; he breathes on it, and the water flows. 18He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.
He proclaims his word to Jacob, his statutes and regulations to Israel. 19He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.
He has not done so with any other nation; they are not aware of his regulations. Praise the LORD! 20He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
