Psalm 115
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
Not to us, O LORD, not to us! But to your name bring honor, for the sake of your loyal love and faithfulness. 1Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to your name be given glory on account of your gracious love and faithfulness.
Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" 2Why should the nations ask "Where now is their God?"
Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases! 3when our God is in the heavens and he does whatever he desires?
Their idols are made of silver and gold--they are man-made. 4Their idols are silver and gold, crafted by human hands.
They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see, 5They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see.
ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell, 6They have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell.
hands, but cannot touch, feet, but cannot walk. They cannot even clear their throats. 7They have hands, but cannot touch; feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even groan with their throats.
Those who make them will end up like them, as will everyone who trusts in them. 8Those who craft them will become like them, as will all those who trust in them.
O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector. 9Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their helper and shield.
O family of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector. 10House of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their helper and shield.
You loyal followers of the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their deliverer and protector. 11You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their helper and shield.
The LORD takes notice of us, he will bless--he will bless the family of Israel, he will bless the family of Aaron. 12The LORD remembers and blesses us. He will indeed bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
He will bless his loyal followers, both young and old. 13He will bless those who fear the LORD, both the important and the insignificant together.
May he increase your numbers, yours and your children's! 14May the LORD add to your numbers— to you and to your descendants.
May you be blessed by the LORD, the creator of heaven and earth! 15May you be blessed by the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth.
The heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind. 16The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but he gave the earth to human beings.
The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any of those who descend into the silence of death. 17Neither can the dead praise the LORD, nor those who go down into the silence of death.
But we will praise the LORD now and forevermore. Praise the LORD! 18But we will bless the LORD from now to eternity. Hallelujah!
