New King James VersionNET Bible
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.1For the music director; a psalm of David. How blessed is the one who treats the poor properly! When trouble comes, the LORD delivers him.
The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.2May the LORD protect him and save his life! May he be blessed in the land! Do not turn him over to his enemies!
The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.3The LORD supports him on his sickbed; you completely heal him from his illness.
I said, “LORD, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”4As for me, I said: "O LORD, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you!
My enemies speak evil of me: “When will he die, and his name perish?”5My enemies ask this cruel question about me, 'When will he finally die and be forgotten?'
And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; His heart gathers iniquity to itself; When he goes out, he tells it.6When someone comes to visit, he pretends to be friendly; he thinks of ways to defame me, and when he leaves he slanders me.
All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt.7All who hate me whisper insults about me to one another; they plan ways to harm me.
“An evil disease,” they say, “clings to him. And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.”8They say, 'An awful disease overwhelms him, and now that he is bed-ridden he will never recover.'
Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.9Even my close friend whom I trusted, he who shared meals with me, has turned against me.
But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them.10As for you, O LORD, have mercy on me and raise me up, so I can pay them back!"
By this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me.11By this I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.
As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever.12As for me, you uphold me because of my integrity; you allow me permanent access to your presence.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.13The LORD God of Israel deserves praise in the future and forevermore! We agree! We agree!
