New King James VersionNew Living Translation
This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.1This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.
He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.2He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them “human.”
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.3When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son who was just like him—in his very image. He named his son Seth.
After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.4After the birth of Seth, Adam lived another 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.5Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.6When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh.
After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.7After the birth of Enosh, Seth lived another 807 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.8Seth lived 912 years, and then he died.
Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.9When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan.
After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters.10After the birth of Kenan, Enosh lived another 815 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.11Enosh lived 905 years, and then he died.
Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.12When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel.
After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters.13After the birth of Mahalalel, Kenan lived another 840 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.14Kenan lived 910 years, and then he died.
Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.15When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared.
After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters.16After the birth of Jared, Mahalalel lived another 830 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.17Mahalalel lived 895 years, and then he died.
Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.18When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.
After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters.19After the birth of Enoch, Jared lived another 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.20Jared lived 962 years, and then he died.
Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah.21When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.
After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.22After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.23Enoch lived 365 years,
And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.24walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.
Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.25When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters.26After the birth of Lamech, Methuselah lived another 782 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.27Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.
Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.28When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son.
And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”29Lamech named his son Noah, for he said, “May he bring us relief from our work and the painful labor of farming this ground that the LORD has cursed.”
After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters.30After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived another 595 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.31Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.32After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
