This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.1This is the written account of Adam's family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.
He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.2He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them "Mankind" when they were created.
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.3When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.4After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.5Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.6When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh.
After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.7After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.8Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.9When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.
After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters.10After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.11Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.12When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.
After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters.13After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.14Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.
Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.15When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.
After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters.16After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.17Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.18When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.
After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters.19After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.20Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.
Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah.21When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.
After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.22After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.23Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.
And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.24Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.25When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.
After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters.26After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.27Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.28When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son.
And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”29He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed."
After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters.30After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.31Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.32After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.
