NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies.2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
“O LORD,” I prayed, “have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you.”4I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
But my enemies say nothing but evil about me. “How soon will he die and be forgotten?” they ask.5Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere.6And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
All who hate me whisper about me, imagining the worst.7All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
“He has some fatal disease,” they say. “He will never get out of that bed!”8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
Even my best friend, the one I trusted completely, the one who shared my food, has turned against me.9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
LORD, have mercy on me. Make me well again, so I can pay them back!10But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
I know you are pleased with me, for you have not let my enemies triumph over me.11By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
You have preserved my life because I am innocent; you have brought me into your presence forever.12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
Praise the LORD, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
