How can we trust God today?
In what ways can we trust God to fulfill His promises today?

The context of Jeremiah 32:22

“You gave them this land which You had sworn to give to their fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.”

– Jeremiah recounts how God kept His oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis 12:7; 26:3; 28:13).

– Even while Jerusalem is under siege, Jeremiah highlights God’s past fulfillment as evidence that He will complete future promises (Jeremiah 32:17–27).

– The land promise, delivered “literally” generations later, stands as a benchmark for trusting every word God speaks.

A proven track record of faithfulness

Numbers 23:19 – “God is not a man, that He should lie.”

Joshua 21:45 – “Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”

1 Kings 8:56 – Solomon echoes the same testimony at the temple dedication.

God’s fulfilled land promise shows:

1. He remembers details, however long the delay.

2. Opposition or exile cannot void His oath.

3. Historical fulfillment in real geography anchors spiritual confidence today.

Promises God keeps today

1. Salvation and forgiveness

John 3:16; Romans 10:9–10.

– Assurance grounded in Jesus’ finished work, not shifting emotion.

2. His constant presence

Matthew 28:20 – “I am with you always.”

Hebrews 13:5 – “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

3. Daily provision

Matthew 6:31–33.

Philippians 4:19 – “My God will supply all your needs.”

4. Guidance and wisdom

James 1:5 – He gives wisdom “generously.”

Psalm 32:8 – “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.”

5. Strength for trials

Isaiah 41:10 – “I will strengthen you; surely I will help you.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 – Escape route from temptation is always provided.

6. Ultimate victory and eternal life

John 14:2–3 – Christ prepares a place.

Revelation 21:3–4 – No more death or sorrow.

Why we can rely on these promises

2 Corinthians 1:20 – “For all the promises of God find their ‘Yes’ in Him.”

Hebrews 10:23 – His character—“He who promised is faithful”—secures every word.

• The same God who literally planted Israel in Canaan will literally complete redemption for all who trust Christ.

Living in confident expectation

– Remember past fulfillments: rehearse Scripture’s record and personal testimonies.

– Receive today’s promises by faith: believe, thank, and act on them.

– Rest in God’s unchanging nature: circumstances shift, but His oath stands firm.

– Reflect His faithfulness: keep your own word, modeling the God you serve.

When doubt surfaces, look back to Jeremiah 32:22. The land flows with milk and honey because God said it would; your life can overflow with grace and peace for the same reason—He promised.
