How to show God's work in our lives?
What steps can we take to ensure others see God's work in our lives?

Laban Noticed—Will People Notice Us?

Genesis 30:27: “But Laban replied, ‘If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. For I have learned by divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you.’”

Living Under God’s Covenant Presence

• Jacob carried God’s promises (Genesis 28:13-15).

• When we live surrendered to those same promises in Christ (Galatians 3:29), people around us encounter the covenant God.

• Action step: daily align choices with Scripture so His presence accompanies us everywhere we go (John 15:10).

Working with Excellence and Integrity

• Jacob served Laban fourteen years with diligence despite unfair terms (Genesis 31:38-41).

Colossians 3:23-24—work “with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

• Action step: be punctual, honest, thorough; excellence showcases God’s character.

Consistency that Endures Hard Seasons

• Jacob stayed on when circumstances were hostile; his steadfastness highlighted God’s blessing (Genesis 30:30).

Philippians 2:14-16—shine “as lights in the world” by persevering without grumbling.

• Action step: keep a steady, hope-filled attitude; consistency turns spectators into witnesses.

Letting Visible Fruit Speak

• Flocks multiplied supernaturally (Genesis 30:43).

John 15:8—“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.”

• Action step: cultivate spiritual fruit—love, joy, peace, etc. (Galatians 5:22-23); tangible results draw attention to God.

Openly Pointing Back to the Lord

• Jacob never claimed credit; he declared, “God has taken away your father’s livestock and given them to me” (Genesis 31:9).

Psalm 115:1—“Not to us, LORD, not to us, but to Your name give glory.”

• Action step: whenever affirmed, redirect praise to Christ; testify to His grace.

Maintaining a Life of Prayerful Dependence

• Jacob sought God’s direction about staying or leaving (Genesis 31:3,11-13).

1 Thessalonians 5:17—“Pray without ceasing.”

• Action step: involve God in daily decisions; answered prayers become undeniable evidence.

Staying Where God Assigns—Until He Moves Us

• Jacob’s presence blessed Laban’s household; leaving prematurely would have dimmed that witness.

Acts 18:9-11—Paul remained in Corinth because God had people to reach.

• Action step: discern God’s timing; staying when He says “stay” maximizes impact.

Guarding Personal Holiness

• Jacob avoided Laban’s idolatry (Genesis 31:19,34-35).

Titus 2:10—live so that we “adorn the doctrine of God.”

• Action step: remove habits that cloud the testimony; holiness makes God’s work unmistakable.

Snapshot Summary

1. Align with God’s promises.
