Which LORD's works strengthen our faith?
What "works of the LORD" should we remember to strengthen our faith today?

The Verse That Frames Our Study

“Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.” (Psalm 111:2)

Why Remembering Matters

• Remembering fuels worship (Psalm 103:2).

• Remembering produces endurance (Hebrews 12:3).

• Remembering guards against fear and drift (Deuteronomy 8:11–14).

Foundational Works to Recall Today

• Creation’s Majesty

Genesis 1:1 “The earth was formless and void…”—yet God spoke order out of chaos.

Romans 1:20 reminds us His eternal power is still “clearly seen” in what He has made.

– Every sunrise preaches, “God keeps His word” (Genesis 8:22).

• Deliverance from Egypt

Exodus 14:13–14: the Red Sea parts, showing God rescues when the way seems blocked.

1 Corinthians 10:1–2 ties Israel’s crossing to our baptism—He still brings people through impossible waters.

• Provision in the Wilderness

Exodus 16:13–18: daily manna—enough for each day, no hoarding needed.

Matthew 6:11: Jesus echoes that rhythm, “Give us today our daily bread.”

• Giving of the Law

Exodus 20: the moral foundation that still defines right and wrong.

Psalm 19:7: “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.”

• Entry into the Promised Land

Joshua 3:14–17: Jordan River stands in a heap during flood stage—God clears obstacles to His promises.

Hebrews 4:8–11: points us to the greater rest we enter by faith.

• Preservation Through Exile and Return

Ezra 1:1: God stirs a pagan king’s heart—He governs kings and timelines.

Lamentations 3:22–23: new mercies cradle a bruised nation, and us as well.

• The Incarnation

John 1:14: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

Philippians 2:6–8: His humility shows God’s willingness to step into our dust.

• The Cross and Resurrection

1 Peter 2:24: sins carried on the tree.

1 Corinthians 15:3–4: buried, raised, and seen—historical anchors for unshakable hope.

• The Gift of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1–4: wind and fire fill ordinary people with power.

Romans 8:11: the same Spirit now lives in us, guaranteeing life.

• Birth and Growth of the Church

Acts 2:41: three thousand saved in a day—God still multiplies faith.

Matthew 16:18: Hell’s gates still cannot prevail.

• Personal Providence and Guidance

Psalm 37:23–24: steps ordered, falls upheld.

James 1:17: every good gift now is another “work” to be noticed and praised.

• Future Restoration

Revelation 21:1–5: new heaven, new earth, every tear wiped away.

2 Peter 3:13: righteousness will be at home—our hope sealed by past faithfulness.

Practical Ways to Keep These Works Fresh

• Keep a running “works journal”—note answered prayers and daily mercies.

• Weave Scripture memory into routine: rehearse verses tied to each work.

• Retell God’s acts in conversation; testimony cements truth (Psalm 78:4).

• Sing hymns and worship songs that recount biblical history.

• Mark the calendar with “remember” days: creation on day one of the month, resurrection every Sunday, etc.

A Closing Thought to Carry Forward

If God’s past actions are “great” and His nature is unchanging (Malachi 3:6), every remembered work is a down payment on the steadfast help He offers today.

How does Psalm 46:8 encourage us to recognize God's power in our lives?
